The truth about addiction - it is a choice.
Celebrity Rehab - Why Celebrities keep relapsing.
Why the number of times a celebrity goes to rehab is a status symbol in today’s culture?
What do Paris, Nicole, and Brittany all have in common beside neither of them like to wear under garment? They have all been to some kind or rehab and have relapsed more then once.
Why is that? Because they keep going back to the same type of program. The conventional, 12-step program says that you have to relapse before you become sober, that you are diseased and need to go to meetings on a regular base to stay sober.
Abusing Alcohol and drugs is not a disease. It is poor choice making. It is the persons attempt not to mature.
Instead of telling a celebrity that they are diseased, which in turn gives that a reason to drink and drug, why not educate them? Give them the tools on how to live productive, mature, joy filled lives.
Many of the programs that these and other celebrities have gone to are not confidential. If they were, we would not know about it. Even if a program claims to be completely confidential, if they are a licensed treatment program, they are required to keep records; and if insurance pays, insurance companies also keep records that are easily accessible. Here at the St. Jude Retreat house we have a strict confidential policy.
